ISAWAD inaugurates Mindanao’s First WD Septage Treatment Facility
Isabela City Water District (ISAWAD) took a bolder stand for cleaner environment and healthier communities by inaugurating last December 6, 2016 its Wastewater Enhancement for Environmental Care (W.E.E. Care) Treatment Plant, which will contribute to improving the access to clean water and sanitation and promote better hygiene to prevent water-borne diseases through septage management in Isabela City.
DPWH Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain represented President Rodrigo R. Duterte and DPWH Secretary Mark P. Villar as Guest of Honor during the inauguration of the septage treatment plant now dubbed as “Mindanao’s First Water District-Operated Septage Treatment Plant. Also present were LWUA Acting Deputy Administrator for Administration Atty. Maria Ellen R. Te, USAID Be Secure Project Climate Resiliency Team Leader Ms. Elisea G. Gozun, PAWD President Alma L. Abrasaldo, and City Councilor Hon. Allan Ritchie R. Biel attending in behalf of Isabela City Mayor Hon. Al-Qaid J. Akbar. Water district colleagues from the Zamboanga City, Pagadian City, Lamitan City and Maluso also graced the event. The facility’s operations building with the plant laboratory was also dedicated on the same day.

Gozun led the ribbon cutting ceremony during the inauguration of ISAWAD’s 10 CMD septage treatment plant with ISAWAD Chairman Fernando S. Cariaga, GM Aleli C. Almodovar and PAWD President Alma L. Abrasaldo.
